Akaji Maro’s Alter Ego in Setagaya Public Theater

Eric Maria Couturier will play the cello and inspire renowned Akaji Maro butoh dancer in continuation of their recent partnership. In the tracks of the Alter Ego performance in Nanterre, where the famous Intercomporain orchester member and Paris conservatoire professor was playing Bach’s solo cello suites, while Akaji Maro was interpreting his music through his art of butoh, the duet will be on stage in SPT from October 29 to November 1st. For this new performance, 4 additional dancers from Dairakudakan will take part, including Jongye Yang. For both music lovers and butoh / contemporary dance fans, it will be a new experience to be enjoyed in theater Tram, after the undergrounds of Kichijoji back in April.

My mother and money ! Mexican theatre in Tokyo

This is not about a personal situation – at least not as far as I am concerned… From October 16 to 18, Tokyo Metropolitan theater will feature a very interesting works, Mi Madre y el dinero, from Mexican author Anacarsis Ramos. It will be one of the most interesting plays from the rich Autumn Meteorites festival. Through the story of a mother and son, torn apart from the difficulties of life in Campeche, Yucatan, this documentary theatre will illustrate the development of the economy and the society, and their impact on individuals and relationships.
Played in Spanish, it will be subtitled in English and Japanese.

Hofesh Shechter Theater of Dreams in Japan

A leading choregraph on the European scene, Hofesh Shechter will bring his signature works Theater of Dreams to Saitama and Aichi during his Autumn tour, planned on October 16 and 17 in Nagoya and October 23 to 25 in Saitama Arts Theater. The dancers’ bodies will bring to life on stage this interplay between poetry and reality, accompanied by a small band of musicians playing to the backdrop of Shechter’s trademark cinematic sound-score. Picturegoers can find the sensations they felt while watching Cédric Klapisch’s En corps.
